Jialu joined the Center in 2016 as a Research Scientist. Jialu is a development macroeconomist interested in the effects of public policies on economic growth, wealth distribution, and welfare. Her research has been published on Southern Economic Journal, Energy Policy, the Chinese Economy, Asian Development Review, and so forth. Most of her work is empirical and utilizes a large amount of microeconomic data. She received a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Mathematics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China, and a M.A. and a PhD in Economics from Indiana University, Bloomington. In her spare time, she is an avid piano player.
