Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Alakai Group

Michael Karangelen is Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Alakai Group LLC, a thesis-driven acquirer using permanent capital to support and grow companies into market leaders.  Currently, Alakai is focused on acquiring companies in the healthspan sector.

Michael has over 25 years of experience acquiring companies and supporting management teams in creating value. Prior to forming Alakai, he was CEO of Investindustrial Advisers, Inc., which he developed and led. He has also been a Managing Director at TowerBrook Capital Partners and a Partner at Brera Capital Partners. Prior to his career in private equity, he was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York and S.G. Warburg in London.

Michael has held numerous philanthropic board and leadership roles supporting entrepreneurship, childhood education, dyslexia, the arts and his local community.  Michael is a graduate of Cornell University.  He and his wife, Kerry, live in Bedford, N.Y. and have three young children.
