Jing Liang is a robotics researcher specializing in robot navigation, including scene understanding and planning in complex indoor and outdoor environments. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Stanford Robotics Center. His broader goal is to enable robots to safely and reliably interact with complex real-world environments. As a New Map of Life fellow, Jing is exploring how intelligent companion robots can enhance mobility, independence, and social connection for older adults and people with disabilities.
