Emilio Umeoka

Emilio Umeoka is a globally recognized executive in the technology industry, known for his outstanding leadership abilities. He has held prominent roles, including Vice President of Enterprise Sales and US Education Sales at Apple. Emilio has also served in key leadership positions at Microsoft, where he led multicultural teams as Vice President of APAC in Singapore and President of Microsoft Brazil. His extensive experience spans from startups to significant divisions within large companies, where he has demonstrated exceptional profit and loss management skills.

One of Emilio’s core values is his unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion. He actively advocates for vibrant and inclusive workplaces, fostering success for high-performance teams. Moreover, Emilio has showcased his social responsibility by driving initiatives to enhance technology in education, promote digital inclusion, and support the local developer and startup ecosystems.

Emilio’s influence extends beyond his professional career. He is a member of the Ascend CEI, an advisory board focused on empowering current and future Pan-Asian leaders. Emilio has also served as the executive sponsor for the Apple Asian Association.

Emilio’s educational background includes a BS. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. He also pursued further learning as a Fellow at Stanford’s Distinguished Careers Institute (DCI). During his time at DCI, Emilio focused on sustainability, nurturing the next generation of minority leaders, and exploring the concept of longevity and how AI (artificial intelligence) technology and ageism will impact the workforce. The institute aims to support accomplished individuals in midlife, helping them renew their purpose, build a supportive community, and achieve overall well-being.

Born and raised in Brazil, Emilio is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, and he is currently undertaking the challenge of learning Mandarin as part of his brain plasticity project.
