Charlotte Japp Crater is a German-American community builder and problem solver who believes creativity and innovation are necessary for addressing evolving challenges of the modern world.
In her career, Charlotte has been a startup founder, venture capitalist, and creative director at companies like VICE Media, Live Nation, and TikTok. She graduated from Georgetown University with honors.
Charlotte is currently a Business Development Leader at Cooley LLP, the #1 law firm for tech financings and IPOs. In her role, she focuses on supporting startup founders and VC fund managers from the earliest stages of incorporation to exit. Much of what powers Charlotte’s work is her love for connecting people.
In 2018, Charlotte founded Cirkel (cirkel.co), a startup that aimed to address ageism in the workforce and help older workers thrive along the longer lifespan. CIRKEL facilitated thousands of highly personalized cross-generational connections, offering new sources of career development and lifelong learning to siloed professionals. She has spoken at conferences around the world about the intersection of aging and work and was named a 2020 Influencer in Aging by Next Avenue. She is based in New York City.
