ALLEN THORPE

Partner, Hellman & Friedman, LLC

Allen Thorpe joined H&F in 1999 and is a member of the firm’s investment committee. He leads H&F’s New York office and the firm’s investing activities in the health care and financial services sectors.

In Healthcare, Allen is a Director of Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) and MultiPlan and was previously the chairman of Sheridan Healthcare and a director of Change Healthcare (formerly Emdeon) and Mitchell International.

In Financial Services, Allen is a Director of Edelman Financial Engines. He was previously the Lead Director of LPL Financial (LPLA), on the Advisory Board of Grosvenor Capital Management, and a Director of investment management firms Artisan Partners (APAM), Mondrian Investment Partners and Gartmore Investment Management.

In Consumer & Retail, Allen is a Director of Caliber Collision.

Allen was also a Director of Vertafore and Activant and was involved in the firm’s investments in Axel Springer and ProSiebenSat1.

Prior to H&F, Allen was a Vice President with Pacific Equity Partners in Australia and a Manager at Bain & Co. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the NYU Langone Medical Center, the Advisory Council of the Stanford Center on Longevity, the Leadership Council of Robin Hood, and the Board of Directors of Zeta Charter Schools.

Allen graduated with distinction from Stanford University and earned a master’s in business administration from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
