Alfred I. Johnson is Co-Founder and CEO of a pre-launch renewable energy finance software platform.
From 2021-2022, Alfred served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary Janet Yellen at the US Department of the Treasury where he was responsible for work related to digital assets, cybersecurity and technology, pandemic response, and the operational management of the 80,000+ person Department.
Prior to Treasury, Alfred was Co-Founder and CEO of Mobilize, the events management platform and network acquired by EveryAction in 2020. Prior to founding Mobilize, Alfred was Head of Sales & People at Clara Lending and Vice President in BlackRock’s Financial Markets Advisory Group, where he worked on projects related to financial regulation, structured finance, and the European Sovereign Debt Crisis.
From 2009-2012, Alfred served in the Obama Administration as Special Assistant to the White House Chief of Staff, Senior Advisor to the Treasury Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets at the U.S. Treasury Department, and Special Assistant on the Financial Crisis Response Team. He started his career as a Regional Field Director for Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign for President.
Alfred is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations; Member of the Advisory Council for the Stanford Center on Longevity and Stanford in Washington; and Co-Chair of the Robert S. Brookings Society.
Alfred is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford University, where he played Defensive End on the Varsity Football Team. He lives in Washington DC with his wife, Dr. Emily Watts, and their two children.
