Julian Ashwin

Developing Tools to Value Gains From Healthy Longevity
Advisor: Andrew Scott

Julian Ashwin completed a PhD in Economics from the University Oxford in 2022 and is now a postdoctoral researcher at London Business School, where he works on a project to investigate an “Economic Longevity Dividend”. He is interested in how economic benefits of longevity can be measured and how these benefits are affected by factors such as productivity, uncertainty and inequality. His research also includes applications of natural language processing tools to contexts such as central bank communication, financial market volatility and refugee well-being, as well as work on learning and indeterminacy in economic models. He has also worked in research focussed roles for the UK Cabinet Office, the European Central Bank and Goldman Sachs, and is currently a consultant for the World Bank.
