4/26/2012 – Designing Homes and Neighborhoods for an Aging Population

By 2030, one in five Americans will be over the age of 65. This approaching “gray wave” of older Americans makes urgent the issues of affordable housing, aging in place, and community services. On April 26, the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. convened professionals and practitioners from multiple disciplines to address housing and neighborhoods for an aging population. Among the experts was the Honorable Henry Cisneros, and Dr. Laura Carstensen, Director of the Stanford Center on Longevity.
