Givon Forbes is a doctoral student at the University of Southern California (USC). His doctoral research examines why high-tech organizations favor external hiring over internal development of frontline employees, particularly as artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform the workplace. This study aims to understand the factors that influence talent management decisions and how emerging AI technology impacts these choices. Outside of his academic studies, he has spent over ten years managing teams within multiple Fortune 50 companies, including Amazon, Microsoft and Target. Before his time in private industry, he spent seven years working in higher education.
