Christian Valdez

Christian Valdez is a seasoned nonprofit leader with 10+ years of experience driving positive change for immigrant communities in California. As the Director of Development & Impact at Building Skills Partnership (BSP), Christian leads a comprehensive strategy encompassing fundraising, communications, data & impact, and strategic planning to advance BSP’s innovative workforce development, immigrant inclusion, and community advancement initiatives.
His expertise in cultivating strategic partnerships, convening diverse community and industry stakeholders, and securing diverse funding streams has been instrumental in expanding BSP’s reach and impact across the state, empowering working families. Christian’s leadership is deeply informed by his lived experience as an undocumented individual and DACA recipient, giving him a unique understanding of the challenges faced by immigrant communities.
Christian holds a B.A. in Linguistics & Philosophy and a B.A. in Chicano/a Studies with a concentration in Law, Labor, and Policy Studies from UCLA. He is a 2016 Silicon Valley New Leaders Council Fellow and a 2016 Latino Leadership Board Academy Fellow. He has previously served on the boards of NLC and the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to building equitable futures for immigrant communities.
