Chandra Muller is the Alma Cowden Madden Professor in Sociology at University of Texas at Austin. She is MPI (with Eric Grodsky, University of Wisconsin, and Rob Warren, University of Minnesota) of two projects collectively called Education Studies for Healthy Aging Research (EdSHARe). EdSHARe includes two nationally representative, longitudinal education samples of over 40,000 individuals first interviewed as high school students in 1972 and 1980 and periodically re-interviewed throughout adulthood. Current data collection includes surveys, neurocognitive assessments, venous blood, residential histories, and MRIs to study the social and biological pathways from education in adolescence to cognitive functioning in later life.
