Greg Shaw

Director of International and Corporate Relations, International Federation on Ageing

Greg Shaw serves as Director of International and Corporate Relations for the International Federation on Ageing. Prior to joining the IFA, he held senior management positions within the Australian Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, working with residential and community aged care programs in Western Australia. His long career with the Australian government included management of the Compliance, Complaint, and Accountability section of the Department, and management of quality of care and certification programs in residential and community care services.

With a strong background in science and health administration, Mr. Shawís earlier work focused on policy development and program implementation supporting the aged care needs of rural northern Australian communities. An advocate for marginalized community groups in the 1990s, he worked with many Aboriginal and ethnic communities to establish specifically tailored aged care homes and community aged care services for these groups.

Mr. Shaw has worked with other civil society organizations on the Global Thematic Consultations on Population Dynamics, Post-2015 Development Agenda to ensure the needs of older people are recognized.
