Advisor: Mike Fredericson

Brigid Riedy graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University on the pre-medical track with a degree in Art History. Her senior thesis was an investigation into the relationship between Medieval female saints’ ritualistic fasting practices (as depicted through art) and the modern concept of disordered eating. Brigid is now working as a Research Professional with Stanford Lifestyle Medicine and as a New Map of Life Fellow at the Stanford Center on Longevity. Prior to starting her fellowship with Stanford, Brigid worked with Ophelia—a start-up telehealth platform that treats Opioid Use Disorder. During this time, she also partnered with the NYU Clinically Sustainable lab, investigating the efficacy of the SARS-CoV2 virus on reusable and single use materials. She is working remotely from New York City and, despite her background in ballet, is an avid runner with the city’s numerous track groups.
