The Center released a paper in September 2013 titled The Next Evolution in Defined Contribution Retirement Plan Design: A Guide for DC Plan Sponsors to Implementing Retirement Income Programs. Steve Vernon, Consulting Research Scholar at the Center, collaborated with Dr. Wade Pfau at The American College and the Society of Actuaries to prepare the research and write the paper.

This guide is intended to inform employers, plan sponsors and their advisors on the key issues with implementing retirement income programs in defined contribution (DC) plans, and help plan sponsors carry out their due diligence when considering such a program. Read report >>

 

Adapting to an Aging Workforce (2013)
The Center, with the support of Marsh & McLennan Companies, convened a conference in April 2013 to launch a conversation about how employers might adapt to the aging workforce.

The goal of the conference was to identify current successful practices and to develop a list of potential strategies for further research. The conference brought together business executives, human resources personnel, academics, and industry thought leaders to examine multiple aspects of the issue and to more fully understand the employer perspective of employing an aging workforce. Livable Community Indicators for Sustainable Aging in Place (2013)
In March of 2013, the Center and MetLife Mature Market Institute (MMMI) completed a report which identifies an initial list of indicators that can be measured using information that is readily available to local governments, providing a low-cost way for cities and towns to begin to examine the needs of their aging population.
